Launching Police Cyber Alarm

The Brief

Purple Pitch PR were commissioned to launch the Home Office funded tool Police CyberAlarm to businesses across England and Wales.

This incredible tool is available for free to businesses, with the aim of helping them to better protect themselves from cyber threats. It also assists UK law enforcement with identifying current threats and taking subsequent enforcement action against the cyber criminals.

The Solution

The team at Purple Pitch PR developed a targeted B2B multi-channel PR campaign, creating content for new marketing material, developing a media engagement plan for launch to encourage businesses to become a PCA member.

Deliverables included:

  • Working with designer to develop the PCA brand
  • Overseeing design of the PCA website and developing the content
  • Copy writing for all marketing material
  • Managing a national media briefing and launch
  • Helping the NPCC senior officer prepare for media interviews
  • Creating a PCA launch toolkit to share with police forces and partners
  • Preparing stakeholder briefing and updates
  • Securing national and regional media coverage
  • Drafting press releases for before, during and after the campaign

The Outcome

  • Police CyberAlarm is now available to businesses in every region in England and Wales and was recently launched in Scotland
  • The launch resulted in over 50 pieces of positive media coverage
  • 8 million reach
  • Helped to secure ongoing Home Office Funding
  • Over 10,000 PCA members and growing

Purple Pitch PR continue to work with Police CyberAlarm on a retained basis, managing their social media channels and external PR. We are also working closely with the team to develop content for a new website and are about to launch a proactive media engagement strategy around working with Multi Service Providers.
