Michelle Nichols

Michelle Nichols has over 27 years’ experience working in communications and PR across the public and private sector with the last ten years of her career prior to starting her business, spent in senior executive roles.

Michelle was Head of Communications at Thames Valley Police where she led a 30 strong communications team and Network Rail as Head of Communications for the multi-million-pound Thameslink programme and the South East Route.

As Head of Communications for Thames Valley Police, Michelle was the lead on strategic communications, crisis communications and media management. She sat as part of the Chief Constables management team advising the Chief and senior officers on the force response to critical incidents, issues impacting public confidence and major incidents.

Michelle has extensive experience developing communications strategies to help organisations meet their business objectives. She has managed complex crisis communications at a national level, led multi-agency responses to major incidents, managed media relations and briefings, drafted content and copy for every medium you can think of and has a passion for driving digital engagement through effective social media.

During her career, Michelle has worked in a variety of industries including leisure and tourism, sports, local authority, transport, infrastructure, law enforcement, gaming and food and drink.

Michelle is also a volunteer mentor to other women in business as part of the Women Leaders' Mentoring Programme and a Parish Councillor for her village.

Tracy Dack

Tracy joined Purple Pitch in January 2021 as a PR Assistant and a newbie to the work of PR. Tracy worked hard to complete and pass her CIPR Foundation Qualification and has gone from strength to strength in her role and is now the PR Account Manager for a number of clients.

Tracy’s career has previously been focused on the Leisure and Tourism industry, where she worked as part of the entertainments team at holiday parks, cabin crew on Seacats and boats and made her way up from trainee to assistant manager at a travel agents.

Since joining Purple Pitch Tracy has demonstrated a natural eye for design, creating engaging content and assets for social media, driving up followers, likes and comments.

Tracy is now an experienced events manager having helped manage a number of national police conferences.

Tracy has also been out and about supporting clients with appearances on broadcast media and coordinating filming for regional news. She has amassed an impressive book of national media contacts in the last few years and regularly secures positive media coverage for our clients.

Mia joined the team on a PR apprenticeship after finishing her GCSE’s and deciding she wanted to continue her education via a practical work placement.

In July 2025, Mia completed her apprenticeship achieving a Distinction in her Level 4 Diploma in Public Relations as a PR & Communications Assistant. Mia is now working full time for Purple Pitch PR as a PR Executive.

In her role Mia has led on a national crime prevention campaign launched with the Home Office, developed skills in video creation and editing and has built a significant contacts book of influencers and key journalists for our clients.

Claire Povey

Claire joined Purple Pitch in March 2026. She joins us following 16 years in the Ambulance Service, including 12 years on frontline emergency ambulances and 4 years within the corporate side of the organisation, working in recruitment, international recruitment, and pastoral care.

Claire brings a wealth of experience from the ambulance service, where she developed exceptional communication skills and a calm, solution focused approach under pressure. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and communities, strengthening her ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and professionalism in every situation.

Her experience in fast moving, high stakes environments has shaped her strengths in problem solving, managing complex information, and building trust through effective engagement. Claire is passionate about developing positive relationships, supporting clear and consistent messaging, and contributing to a strong organisational reputation through well executed public relations.
